Pre-existing condition exclusions

Children with pre-existing conditions cannot be denied health insurance.

Who this affects
This includes both grandfathered and non-grandfathered plans. No insurers may apply pre-existing condition exclusions to children under age 19.

The same will be true for adults beginning Jan. 1, 2014.
